Prompt Care When Your Eyes Need Immediate Attention
Eye problems can feel alarming — and sometimes they truly are.
At Lifetime Eye Care, we provide same-day urgent eye care for many sudden eye concerns. If you’re unsure whether your situation requires an emergency room or an urgent eye visit, call us. We can help guide you.
When to Call 911 or Go to the Emergency Room
Some eye conditions are vision-threatening and require immediate emergency medical care. Call 911 or go directly to the emergency room if you experience:
Severe eye trauma from an accident
A deep cut or puncture to the eye
Sudden, complete loss of vision
Chemical exposure with significant pain or vision changes
A high-impact injury (such as from a car accident or major fall)
In true emergencies, every minute matters.
When to Call Us for Urgent Eye Care
Many eye problems are urgent — but not life-threatening — and can be treated safely and effectively in our office.
Contact us promptly if you experience:
Eye infections (redness, discharge, swelling)
Pink eye
Painful or irritated eyes
A scratched eye (corneal abrasion)
A foreign body sensation
Sudden increase in floaters or flashes
New blurry or distorted vision
Contact lens–related complications
We reserve time in our schedule to accommodate urgent eye visits whenever possible.
What to Do Before You’re Seen
If chemicals enter the eye, gently rinse with clean water for 15 minutes and seek care immediately. Avoid rubbing the eye. Do not attempt to remove embedded objects. If you wear contact lenses, remove them unless instructed otherwise.
When in doubt, call us. We are happy to advise you.
Fast, Focused, Experienced Care
Urgent eye issues require careful evaluation to protect both your comfort and your long-term vision.
Our goal is to diagnose the problem quickly, relieve discomfort, and determine whether additional care or referral is necessary.
